The Christian Science Societies in Petoskey and Charlevoix are jointly sponsoring a free public lecture:

Tuesday July 15 at 2pm at the Charlevoix Public Library, 220 Clinton St., Charlevoix. 

The speaker will be Bobby Lewis of Buena Vista, Colorado.

The topic of Bobby’s lecture is “Effective prayer: finding healing and wholeness in divine Love”.

There will be a “BYO Picnic” before the lecture from 12:30-1:45pm. Bring a blanket or folding chairs. 

Bobby will be interviewed live on The Vic McCarty Show on radio station WTCM Traverse City at 1130am on Wednesday July 9, 2025. Tune in to AM580 or listen live at www.wtcm.com. 

The event is open to the public and free. Child care will be provided.

Bobby has a masters degree in Bible studies and worked as a U.S. Marine Corps chaplain; Director, Adventure Unlimited Ranches; Founder and Executive Director, Link School in Buena Vista, Colorado and volunteering with the Colorado criminal justice system and community mental health. 

He is now in the full-time public practice of Christian Science and a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship.

In his talk, Bobby will explore practical and transformative prayer, as taught in Christian Science. Through compelling personal stories, he will illustrate how the spiritual laws of divine Love operate– and how prayer brings us into alignment with these laws. Whether you’re feeling lost or struggling with illness, effective prayer can restore clarity, peace and wholeness in every area of life.

Our small and loving congregation will welcome you and if you are new to Christian Science, be happy to answer any questions you may have. There are many resources available to help you in your study, either at church in our reading room or online at http://www.christianscience.com.

Summer Visitors

We love having you visit our church… Summer in Charlevoix is glorious.

Are you attending a Christian Science Sunday church service for the first time? You’ll find there are many elements which will be familiar to you — hymns, prayer, solo, readings from the Bible, a warm sense of fellowship. Our services last an hour, and Sunday School begins and ends at the same time. Our Wednesday Testimony services are similar and include testimonies of healing and examples of practicing Christian Science in everyday life.

Generally, there is parking available along the street. If there is a festival going on and parking scarce, please waive at the usher at the door and we will suggest a solution.

Tuesday and Thursdays: 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. (Or by appointment)

Stop in and see our collection of more than 100-years of healing and inspirational selections…. There is also a sales area if you need something!

We discovered how nice it was to have a mid-day break to pray, share our healings and talk of Christian Science. So now we meet all year long at 12:30 pm for our Wednesday Testimony Meeting. If it’s your lunch hour, feel free to bring your brown bag along.
